Satisfactory academic performance is part of the eligibility crit eria. Loans are subject to credit approval. Loan must be used for tuition, qualifying sch ool fees, and o 5qther specific e qducation-related cost 5qts, including living expenses during study. Loan payments may not exceed the student’ s financial need. Depending on th k5q e type of school (i.e. undergraduate, graduate), the upper l imit on the amount borrowed ranges from KRW 40 million to KRW 90 million. If applying loan towa rds both tuition/school fees a qnd in-study living expenses, the lower limit is KRW 600,000 (at least KRW 100,000 for tuition/school fees plus at least 5qtKRW 500,000 for living expenses). Th 5qte repayment system offers a borrower grace pe riod of 10 years or less during which payments only need to be made towards the interest on the loan. This maximum perv k5q iod of time is determined by the borrower’s year in school and the remaining nu mber of years within the stavndard period of the borr dergraduate students of all grades from low-income househo qlds in the 1st through 7th income bracke t levels; also 5qt, for students (irrespective of income level) from 5qt households with three or more childr enâ€"beginning with the third child.
